Imran Awan. Debbie Wasserman Schultz. $300,000 wired to Pakistan. Recorded threats of “consequences” to the Capitol Hill Police if they didn’t return seized evidence. Stolen IT equipment. Unfettered access to over 24 House Democrats email by criminals. Possible bank and wire fraud What do all of these things have in common? They are all key details in the ever-expanding, developing news story about a criminal investigation into Imran Awan during his tenure with Ms. Schultz office. They combine to form one of the largest developing criminal probes in recent House history involving not only the Capitol Police but the FBI as well. Also, CNN.com refuses to report on this story.
As we reported before back on July 27th, CNN.com just does not want this story to see the light of day. In fact, since that July 27th story, CNN.com has not published one single additional report on a story that is unfolding with additional details weekly, if not daily.
Despite CNN’s new slogan “Go There”, it would seem that the Mainstream Media outlet wants to do anything BUT “Go There” in the face of actual news. Especially if it involves a senior Democrat lawmaker, possibly millions of dollars of fraudulently obtained funds and has the potential to envelop around 24 other Democratic House members. It is almost certain that if this scandal had involved Republican lawmakers instead of Democrats that CNN would be offering breathless coverage 24/7.
This story continues to develop despite attempts by CNN to sweep it under the rug. However, once again, CNN’s refusal to cover such an important news item has become a story in and of itself.
